Pilot dead in Jordanian military plane crash

AMMAN - A military plane crashed during a training exercise and the pilot died in the crash, Jordanian officials said yesterday.

The national Petra news agency said a training plane belonging to the kingdom's air force suffered a mechanical failure during the exercise. The pilot who died was identified as Maj. Sakher al-Kharabsheh. Local media said a piloting student who was also on board survived the crash.
