Perpetrators were Torn into Pieces

The Istanbul Security Directorate announced that the 4 perpetrators, who committed the 4 suicide attacks in Istanbul on November 15 and 20 died in the attacks.Deputy Security Director Halil Yilmaz stated that four perpetrators of the bomb attacks in Istanbul, which killed 51 people, were torn into pieces and died in the blasts. Yilmaz said that 712 people were injured in the attacks. Yilmaz further stated that the attack on the Neve Shalom Synagogue was committed on November 15, at about 09.30 with an Isuzu pick-up truck whose plate number was 34 ZR 099 and that the attack on the Beth Israel Synagogue was carried out with another Isuzu pick-up truck, whose plate number was 34 UHK 68. The bombs used in the attacks were a mixture of ammonium nitrate. As a result of the attacks on synagogues, a policeman, a nightwatchman, and 23 others were killed. Yilmaz said that investigation on the issue was still under way and that 5 people were arrested by the State Security Court (DGM) within this framework.Regarding the attacks on November 20, Yilmaz said that they took place at 10.55. He stated that the attack on the HSBC headquarters was carried out with a Hino pick-up truck, whose plate number was 34 UVD 06 and that the attack on the British Consulate was committed with another Hino pick-up truck, whose plate number was 34 VCV 25. According to the Security Directorate, the same type of bombs were used in all of the four attacks.As a result of these attacks 28 people were killed, including British Consul General Roger Short and two policemen, and 450 others were injured.Within the framework of the investigation launched into these attacks, 9 people were arrested on grounds that they assisted an illegal organization.Â
