Oostlander will change the anti-Kemalist report

European Parliament’s Turkey Reporter Arie Oostlander, who faced a big reaction because of his report that put the blame on Kemalism in Turkey’s failure to get closer to Europe, said that he would change the expressions in his report, related with the issue.Many European Parliamentarians said in their meeting on Tuesday that the report of Oostlander was far away from the realities of Turkey and that Kemalism and laicism were the two main principles, which paved way for the EU candidacy of Turkey. The Parliamentarians formed a common opinion about that the domination of the army on politics should be decreased and the Turkish Constitution should be reviewed.The report will be voted on May 12, with 283 amendment motions. Oostlander handed 7 amendment motions on his own report.Â
