New York streets turn red and white at Turkish Day Parade

Carrying red and white Turkish flags and wearing red and white, thousands of Turkish-American people gathered in New York to attend the 27th Turkish Day Parade and Festival on Saturday.

The crowd met at the corner of 56th Street and Madison Avenue in Manhattan to march to Turkish House.

Turkish State Minister Mustafa Said Yazicioglu, Turkish Ambassador to United States Nabi Sensoy, Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Deputy Chairman Egemen Bagis and several other high level Turkish officials attend the parade and the festival held in Dag Hammarjold Park next to Turkish House.

Several Turkish singers gave concerts at the park and groups coming from Turkey performed folk dance shows.
