New measures in Turkey on the way

BURSA - A new measures package has been announced that aims to put into motion a new incentive system based on sectors, regions and projects, and in a manner that would be more beneficial to the economy as a whole, according to Deputy Prime Minister Nazım Ekren.
Within the framework of this new package, the scale, financial distress and strategic vision of the real economy will be reshaped once again, said Ekren during a speech he delivered at the "First Uludağ Ekonomy Summit" in Bursa yesterday. Ekren talked about the sixth and seventh measures packages that are on the way.
One of those measures focuses on the real economy, he said. "The package has two focal points. One of them is to strengthen firms’ sustainability. We have begun to put in to motion a new incentive system to provide better support for the real economy. We will start up a company restructuring period, which would reshape the real sector’s scale, financial distress and strategic vision. Then we will increase the role and the effectiveness of the Credit Guarantee Fund."
