ISTANBUL - The IST30 Stock Market Investment Fund of Turkish lender Finansbank started trading on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, or IMKB, yesterday.
Being the first stock market investment fund based on the IMKB National-30 Index, the IST30/Finansbank IMKB 30 Type A Fund started trading with a small ceremony at the stock exchange, as Kerim Rota, a Finansbank executive board member, rang the opening bell yesterday morning.
With IST30 investors will have the chance in a single transaction to invest in the companies that are traded the most, that are the most held by foreigners and that have the highest free float rate.
Another feature of the IST30 is that the shares of the fund are securitized, thus may be included in all portfolios.
The new instrument allows individual, institutional and foreign investors to buy and sell at any desired price with a single transaction. Thus, it is possible to share in the gains of the IMKB National-30 Index and defuse the risk. Investors will also have the ability to short sell.
