ANKARA - Turkey's Chief EU Negotiator said Wednesday that while certain groups in Turkey were still unable to refer to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, as a "terrorist organization," the European Union continued to describe it as such.
Speaking to the Anatolia news agency regarding the EU Council keeping the PKK, along with other insurgencies Ğ including the Islamic Great East Raiders Front, or IBDA-C, the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Front, or DHKP-C, and the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons, or TAK Ğ on its updated "Terrorist Organizations List," Turkish State Minister and Chief Negotiator for the EU Egemen Bağış said that the PKK's name remained on the EU's list of terrorist organizations thanks to Turkey's determined efforts. "The terrorist organizations that concern us, which are the PKK, the DHKP-C, the TAK and the IBDA-C, are still on this list. The EU continues to consider the PKK a terrorist organization while certain circles still cannot describe it so," he said. Also commenting on the Roj-TV issue, chief negotiator said Turkey cooperated extensively with Danish authorities. "We will carry on with our fight against terrorism in a determined way," Bağış added.
