The mystery surrounding the identity of the person who photographed Hrant Dink’s murderer, Ogün Samast, has begun to draw more interest than the murder itself.

The discovery and leak leading to the broadcasting of the photographs of Ogün Samast with writing saying, “The ground of the fatherland is sacred and must not be abandoned to destiny”, on television channel TGRT, has lead to disputes between the Police Department and Gendarmes about who is responsible for the leak.
The gendarmes revealed, “The shots were taken in the tea house at the Samsun Police Department’s Struggle Against Terror Branch.” A spokesperson for the Police Department said, “It is not right for one institution to blame another in the presence of the press.”
