ISTANBUL - Turkey’s first and only industrial museum, the Rahmi M. Koç Museum in Istanbul, will be welcoming all mothers free of charge on Sunday, May 10, which is Mother’s Day.

The museum is also collaborating with the magazine "Mother & Baby" to present the "Yalvaç Ural Tin Toys Exhibition," the toy collection of Yalvaç Ural, a journalist and master of children’s literature, on the museum’s Fenerbahçe Boat. Other attractions at the museum include Henry Kupjack’s "Miniature Rooms" exhibition, a planetarium, and an exhibit "From Earth to the Universe."

The museum, located along the Golden Horn in Hasköy, is open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. Its Demlik Cafe, Cafe du Levant restaurant and Halat Cafe will be serving throughout the day on Sunday. Regular admission to the museum is 9 Turkish Liras. For info please call 0212 369 00 01-02.

The Sakıp Sabancı Museum in Emirgan, along the Bosphorus, will also be celebrating Mother’s Day, hosting a special workshop, "My Mother Is a Model, I Am a Painter," for children and their moms on Sunday. Children participating in the workshop will first visit the exhibit "Travel to the West: 70 Years of Turkish Art (1860-1930)" and then draw their mothers’ portraits.
