An Moldavian-owned Antonov 26 airplane which left the Turkish city of Adana for the Iraqi capital of Baghdad yesterday has crashed, killing 34 people. The plane, which was carrying 30 passengers and a crew of 5, took off yesterday from Adana's Sakirpasa Airport, crashing near landing at Baghdad's Beled Airport.
Of those dead, 29 passengers worked for the Adana-based Kulak Construction firm, and had been headed to Baghdad to continue on work there.
News of the airplane crash which took the lives of so many Turkish workers headed for work in Iraq has hit Adana hard; the Kulak Construction firm is a prominent company which has been involved in building roads, schools, and other infrastructural buildings in Iraq.
