BALIKESİR - Manyas Bird Paradise in the Manyas District of Balılesir faced a drought two years ago, but with the heavy rains this winter, the refuge has regained its green and marshy conditions.
The paradise is much-frequented place for migrant birds, hosting more than 3 million migrant birds from 266 species every year.
But the low rainfall of the previous years pushed the valley into a drought and few birds were present. With this winter’s rainfall re-energizing the valley, the number of migrant birds visiting the bird paradise has increased.
