'Lithuania Year' in Alanya

ALANYA - The southern city of Alanya has declared this the “Year of Lithuania” under the framework of its 9th Tourism and Culture Festival. The Alanya municipality each year dedicates this event to one country.

The city of Trakai in Lithuania is Alanya’s sister city, the festival committee said in a written statement announcing the decision; in addition, the European country is celebrating the 1000th anniversary of its founding. Members of a group of Karain Turks that has been living in Lithuania for a thousand years will also participate in the festival.
