FETHİYE - An English lesbian couple was married recently in a ceremony performed by a preacher in a Fethiye hotel run by another British couple.
Jenny Chapman, a gym manager and mother of a 16-year-old daughter, and Colette McKune, a construction-management sales manager and mother of a 14-year-old daughter, officially documented their 10-year relationship in Fethiye in front of friends from England and Australia. The couple met 10 years ago and has lived together in Liverpool for nine years.
Other lesbian couples attended, rekindling their own loves in the wedding’s romantic atmosphere.
"We love Fethiye and Turkish people. We have been spending our holidays here for almost five years, so for that reason, we preferred to get married here in Fethiye," said Chapman. "People should get married with whoever they love. We love each other very much and got married. We know there is no such thing in Turkish culture; however, cultures can change, as everything does. The most important thing is the love. We are happy to be here and we will have our honeymoon here too. Probably, we will also come back here for our wedding anniversary."
