Kazakhstan's national carrier, Air Astana, has now been granted permission to resume regular flights to Turkey after a Turkish court ruled that the impounding of Kazakh planes come to an end on Thursday night. The Kazakh planes were grounded on Thursday morning because of an $8 million debt by the Kazakhstan's National Bank to a Turkish citizen, Turgut Tirali.The court ruled that only the planes owned by the airline be grounded, but that planes rented could not be impounded.

Air Astana is 51 percent owned by the Kazakh government and 49 percent owned by Britain's BAE Systems. Air Astana stopped all flights and was awaiting further notice.
