ISTANBUL - A somber new year awaits those who are feeling the heavy impact of the sour economy. Tire Kutsan, a Turkish corrugated packaging and container business, announced it has fired 45 of its employees.
In a filing with the Istanbul Stock Exchange, the company revealed it had terminated the contracts of 45 employees working at its factory in the Hacı Sabancı Organized Industry Zone in the southern city of Adana.
Meanwhile, Milpa, a subsidiary of Doğan Holding, also announced it would terminate the employment contracts of 26 employees by Jan. 29. The company will lay off 26 of its 40 employees.
