ITC: Turkey is not responsible for dumping steel wire rod

A statement issued by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) said that China, Germany and Turkey are not responsible for dumping steel wire rod into the US market. The statement said: "There is not a reasonable indication that a US industry is materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of imports of carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from China, Germany, and Turkey that are allegedly sold in the United States at less than fair value."

There were at least six commissioners from the quasi-federal agency, which investigates trade disputes, supported the finding with a unanimous vote.
The investigation by the ITC began on Nov 30. US steel makers had called for more than 300 pct duties on some steel products from China.
A chance of appeal for the US steel industry is open within 30 days.
