The aim of the new venue, which is being managed by the French company GL Events, is to establish a dynamic and modern space that can host a wide range of corporate events, performances and presentations. A unique venue such as The Seed is ideal for an up-and-coming business center such as Istanbul, GL Events board member Orhan Sanus said. "The new, colorful venue, combined with an international portfolio for planning and organizing events, will boost Istanbul’s potential for business tourism," Sanus said, speaking at a press conference. Sanus said the venue’s name suggests the dynamic aims of the new concept.

"The seed is a starting point; once it has been rooted, it will grow," he said, adding that the space will initially be used for conferences and presentations and will later host large-scale shows in the performing arts, a step that will merge Istanbul’s cultural richness with new innovations for business.

’Great business potential’
Olivier Moyse, GL Events’ France general manager, said Turkey has always been an important country for the company. "It is a country that we esteem and examine closely as we see great potential for business [there]," Moyse said.

Commenting on the effects of the financial downturn, Moyse said that the crisis has not affected the firm’s decision to invest in Turkey because company officials believe that once they have implemented a solid infrastructure, Turkey will grow considerably in the meetings industry to become a key host of events. After the investment in Istanbul, the company plans to manage a venue in Ankara.

The Seed covers more than 1,700 square meters, comprising conference, concert and congress halls with 335 square meters of open space overlooking the Bosphorus and a 600-square-meter indoor capacity.
