BERLIN - The Scenario Writers Association, Sender, is organizing a scenario competition as part of the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture.
At a press meeting held in Berlin, spokesperson Eylem Kaftan said the members of the European Scenario Writers Federation would be able to join the competition. Kaftan said writers should write a three-sentence presentation, one-page summary and at most 10-page English-language script for the application, adding that Istanbul should be the main character in the story.
Kaftan said a jury, made up of famous European people in the field of cinema, would announce 10 finalists on Oct. 30. "These finalists will be invited to Istanbul and given a chance to improve their writing skills. They will also be able to meet filmmakers in Istanbul."
The Television and Cinema
