Investment to continue, Atakaş says

ISTANBUL - Turkey’s Atakaş Group has refuted a story by Italian daily MF that claimed there was a six-month delay for a venture between Danieli, Italy’s biggest maker of equipment for the steel industry, Russia’s Magnitogorsk Iron&Steel and Atakaş had been delayed for six months.
In a statement sent to the Hürriyet Daily News & Economic Review yesterday, Gökçe Atakaş, Vice President of Atakaş Group, said the deal has not been delayed. "Our payment plans continue according to the program we have agreed upon previously," said Atakaş. "There is no disruption to our investments."
Quoting a stock exchange statement by Danieli, Italian daily MF wrote Dec. 23 that the contract is being postponed "due to delays in local projects and financing."
