ISTANBUL - The brutal beheading of 17-year-old Münevver Karabulut, whose head was found dumped in a bin, has taken over the headlines of the Turkish press as operations are underway to find her boyfriend, Cem. G., the chief suspect in the investigation.
Münevver Karabulut, who had entered the fourth month of her relationship with Cem. G, the son of a prominent businessman, was found dead in Istanbul’s Etiler neighborhood with her head dumped in a guitar case in a bin, and her body separately found in a suitcase. As the incident shocks millions across the country, Münevver Karabulut’s uncle, Hüseyin Karabulut, has taken immediate action by putting together search parties in an operation to find the missing Cem.
Investigations carried out by police at Cem. G’s villa in Istanbul’s district of Bahçeşehir revealed traces of blood. Police found blood stains that were cleaned with a Luminol chemical that identifies blood stains through an ultra violet light. Meanwhile, as operations have been under way in search of Cem G, suspicions have arisen that he has fled overseas. Daily Sabah reported that according to friends the couple were happy and seemed in love, although some commented that Cem. G was known to be extremely jealous.
Three other corpses have been found in Ankara. Meanwhile three other female corpses were found Thursday in Ankara and investigations have begun.
