Hurriyet: Codes of Bribery, Deciphered

The number of detentions in the operation launched by the Ankara State Security Court (DGM) rose to 12.The operation unveiled the gang of bribery to the judiciary and deciphered the codes of bribery. The content of the “Lancet Operation II,” which started when 12 people including Ersin Pamuksuzer, a member of the Cukurova Group Board of Directors, and Saner Ayar, the General Manager of Show TV, is getting clearer. The process started when Mehmet Nazif Edin, the owner of the Kemer County, was arrested within the framework of the “Lancet Operation I.” Semra Edin, the wife of M.N.Edin contacted with the organization that was revealed with the Lancet II. This organization was working under the motto that, “We know important persons in Ankara, we can solve any issue.” DGM found out that the head of the organization is based in Ankara but has branches in Istanbul as well, was Haldun Erdavran, the son-in-law of former Interior Minister Orhan Eren. Erdavran told Semra Edin, “There are four convicts arrested in the Lancet Operation (I). We will contact the public prosecutor in charge of this operation to release them. We will solve the issue.” Police recorded these statements of Erdavran. Public Prosecutor Omer Suha Aldan, who was in charge with the Lancet Operation I originally, launched a separate and secret investigation. After the suspects of the Lancet Operation I were released, Pamuksuzer of the Cukurova Group and other “super administrators,” who were detained on Tuesday became the clients of the organization for cases that were important for their firms. Their efforts were also recorded by police. The organization had attorneys called “harbingers” to establish contacts with judges. These “harbinger” attorneys reportedly are Ozgur Oztunc, Cenk Guryel, and Galip Altintas. It was revealed that Erdavran, the head of this illegal organization, was trying to impress the clients by saying that he knew important persons in Ankara and that Cenk Guryel, the son of Appeals Court member Ergul Guryel was his friend. The Clients The clients of the organization, who are under detention, include Ersin Pamuksuzer, Saner Ayar, and Garanti Investment Partnership Board of Directors member Ali Can Verdi.�
