Turkey's highest-gravity oil has been found in Bismil town inTurkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakir and in Alasehir town in the western province of Manisa, the Anatolian Agency reported on Wednesday. (UPDATED)

The Bismil oil reserve, discovered at a depth of 2,450 meters, has a gravity ranking of 41.9 and is said to be of a similar quality to oil reserves in Saudi Arabia, the report said.

 

The daily production of the oil will be determined in the coming days.

 

In another oil exploration study in Turkey's western province of Manisa, oil with a gravity rating of between 31-37 was discovered at a depth of 1,850 meters.

 

"We are going to carry out the technical evaluations of the oil. We expect to decide on production in about four or five months time based on the results of our evaluations," an official of the researcher company told Dogan News Agency.

 

According to the official, the oil reserve is estimated to contain as much as 10 million barrels.
