He Reunited his Friends 47 Years Later

Hristo Kolyos, 62, who had to leave Turkey in the 6-7 September incidents, had a reunion with his friends in Turkey, after 47 years. Meeting his friends Refik and Remzi Karakoy brothers in Moda, Istanbul, Kolyos said that “I am short of words of express my happiness.” Kolyos came from Britain to Turkey, determined to find all his friends, by knocking every door. Remzi Karakoy said that, “70 % of residents here were Greeks and Jews. We grew up without any discrimination among Moslems and Non-Moslems. We used to eat every meal with our neighbors, the Kolyos family.”
