Guven Arrested in Britain with Turkey Pressure

Drug smuggler Nurettin Guven who was first detained then released in Britain, were arrested on the demand of Turkey and France. Guven has a 15-year prison sentence in Turkey and a 10-ear sentence in France for drug trafficking. The former Malatyaspor president talked to Hurriyet after he was arrested in April 1994 with Hakan Gonenç with a green passport and a silencer gun and was put in Wandsworth Prison but managed to get free.He said, "There is no problem for me to go to Turkey, because of the amnesty, I am not being hunted any more. I am trying to get citizenship in England for years. Now I am a citizen. I will come to Turkey soon as an important businessman. I am about to make a business with China that will improve the Turkish economy. We will visit your office with my partner soon and make a full page advertisement to English newspapers."Â
