ANKARA - The judiciary will uncover any lapse in transparency, President Abdullah Gül said Sunday while talking to reporters about the weeklong debate over a document allegedly outlining a military plan to overthrow the Justice and Development Party, or AKP.

"The legal process about the issue is continuing. The process is functioning for all," the president said during his visit to the central Anatolian town of Karaman. "Turkey is a transparent country. If there is a wrongdoing within this transparency, the legal system will uncover it and necessary actions will be taken." Gül added: "If there are no errors, if there are ones deliberately doing this in Turkey, that will also be uncovered and what’s necessary will be done.

However, nothing will stay hidden in Turkey anymore." With his words, Gül touched on the recent conspiracy theories arguing the document was fabricated to hurt military-government relations.

"All legal means are utilized and the subject is being investigated diligently," the president said. "As you can see, both military courts and civil courts are doing their part."
