Government Gave Salih A Cold Shoulder

The government is giving the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), which insists that a federal structure based on ethnicity should prevail in Iraq, a cold shoulder. Neither Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan nor Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul would receive Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Official Berham Salih, who arrived in Ankara yesterday evening and will start his contacts in the Foreign Ministry today.

This stance of Ankara will give the message to Kurd groups that Turkey will not accept any development that will lead to the disintegration of Iraq.
Salih is expected to meet Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal, who will tell Salih that Turkey will be against any initiative that will threaten the territorial integrity of Iraq.
