-- EX GIRLFRIEND STARTED DENIZ FENERI CASE
The first complain on the charity Deniz Feneri in Germany made by the former girlfriend of Mehmet Gurhan. She filed an official complain to the regional administration, claiming Gurhan was involved a series of crimes including illegal financial transactions. The complain started the legal process.

-- WE SHALL DEFEAT NOT TO LOSE CHARISMA
Regarding the soccer match which will be played between the national teams of Turkey and Armenia tonight, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "it will be a game in which ambition will be over technic. Under normal  conditions, I am expecting Turkish team to win. We should not lose the charisma which we gained in European Championship."

-- LAND MINE KILLED THREE MORE SOLDIERS
Sergeant Mustafa Ali Yazicioglu and private Ilyas Guzel were killed when PKK terrorists exploded remote control land mine they earlier planted on highway in the southeastern province of Sirnak. Also another land mine planted by terrorists went off in Yuksekova town of the southeastern province of Hakkari and one private was killed.

MILLIYET
-- POWER OF SOCCER
President Abdullah Gul will be the highest-level Turkish official to visit Yerevan, Armenia in the 85 years history of the Republic of Turkey. Gul will watch a World Cup qualifying match between the national soccer teams of Turkey and Armenia on Saturday. The match in Yerevan is believed to be a first step in improving relations between the two neighbors, Turkey and Armenia. Gul will remain in Yerevan for four hours. Turkey, currently, does not have official diplomatic relations with Armenia.

-- MESSAGES IN DIYARBAKIR
The new Chief of Turkish General Staff Gen. Ilker Basbug paid his first visit to the southeastern province of Diyarbakir after assuming his new post. Gen. Basbug gave important messages while in Diyarbakir:

- The terrorist organization is reaching a breaking point. We aim at ending the terrorism problem in the shortest time possible.
- We must prevent youngsters from going to the mountains and joining the  terrorist organization. Diyarbakir is the heart of the region. I served in Diyarbakir in 1990s. Today's Diyarbakir is much different than what it was in those years.

- The problems of Diyarbakir are our problems. 64 percent of Diyarbakir's population is below the age of 24. If we can use this population effectively, the whole world will be impressed.

-- LONGEST 90 MINUTES
The soccer game between the national teams of Turkey and Armenia will last for 90 minutes but soccer diplomacy will have a long-term impact on bilateral relations. World Cup qualifying match between Turkey and Armenia will take place at 7:00 p.m. today in Yerevan. Diplomatic excitement is high as President Abdullah Gul will go to Yerevan today. With the visit of Gul, for the first time, a Turkish president will step in Armenia.

-- CALL FOR COMPROMISE
Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan proposed to set up four compromise  committees regarding constitutional amendment and reform laws. Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) rejected the proposal, while Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) was positive about it.

-- LET THIS MATCH BE A BEGINNING
Turkish national soccer team will start 2010 World Cup qualifying rounds  with the match it will play against Armenian national team tonight in Yerevan at 7:00 p.m. Coach Fatih Terim said, "we have all seen how soccer made nations closer. We wish this game will be a beginning. We are not interested in out of the field. Let's leave history to historians and politics to politicians."

-- I'VE SEEN SUCH A LOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Upon the intensive love of people, Chief of General Staff Gen. Ilker  Basbug, during his visit to the eastern province of Van, got out of his official vehicle and spoke with the citizens. Gen. Basbug said regarding his visit to Van that he had never seen such a love and respect to armed forces in any province.

-- GUL DOES NOT WANT DEPUTIES IN YEREVAN
Thirty deputies from the AKP applied to Turkish Football Federation to watch Saturday's World Cup qualifying match between Turkey and Armenia in Yerevan. The AKP group decided not to send any deputy to Yerevan. Sources said that President Abdullah Gul was influential on AKP's decision about the deputies. Gul did not want his trip to Yerevan to turn into a show with the participation of 30 deputies.

-- PKK MINE BLAST KILLS 3 SOLDIERS
Three soldiers were killed when separate land mines --planted in the  southeastern provinces of Sirnak and Hakkari by PKK terrorists-- went off. Two of the soldiers were killed in Sirnak.

-- PROBLEMS OF 90 YEARS PACKED INTO 90 MINUTES
Turkish President Abdullah Gul will visit Yereven on Saturday to watch a  World Cup qualifying match between the national soccer teams of Turkey and Armenia. Gul will meet with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsian in Yerevan. Turkey-Armenia match carries critical importance for 'peace' diplomacy. Gul's meeting with Sargsian can be a turning point in the Caucasus.

-- 50,000 COMPANIES & SHOPS GO OUT OF BUSINESS IN 8 MONTHS
Recession in Turkey continues to hurt businesses. According to the Union  of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), approximately 50,000  companies and shops went out of business in the first eight months of 2008.
