-- WE'LL MAKE AN ASSESSMENT IF HE ASKS TO LAY DOWN ARMS
Turkish Justice Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said that Abdullah Ocalan, head of the terrorist organization PKK, did not have the right to communicate with other prisoners as he did not display good conduct. "However, if he says 'quit fighting and lay down arms', prosecutors can make a new assessment," Sahin said.

-- LIFE ALLA TURCA TO END SOON
The Turkish parliament will start debating another law on adjustment with EU standards starting from today. The new Trade Law, which will consist of 1,535 articles, will regulate our lives in many aspects. With the new law, the consumption of food that will disturb other passengers will be prohibited on public transport, door-to-door or street sales will be qualified as "violent sales techniques" and will be punished, and babies will benefit from the health insurance of their parents without paying any additional premiums.

-- GUL'S VISIT WAS WISE
Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian, who came to Istanbul to attend a meeting of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), said that it was time to open borders with Turkey and set normal relations between the two countries. Nalbandian defined the visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Yerevan as "very wise" action.

Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, who completed his visit to India, said on his way to Turkey, "We have already made it", when a reporter said, "you are expected to make an Alevite move". Government spokesman Cemil Cicek also said regarding the issue that they were late to focus on Alevite issue in some aspects.

-- SARGSIAN TO COME TO TURKEY TO WATCH MATCH
Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian met with Foreign Minister Ali Babacan in Istanbul. Nalbandian said that Armenian President Serzh Sargsian would come to Turkey to watch a soccer game between Turkey and Armenia. Nalbandian added that leaders in both countries should exert efforts.

-- THEY WENT U.S. FOR BOXING, NOW IN PRISON
Six Turks, who went to the United States to attend a kickboxing tournament, were captured trying to enter Canada illegally. Agents of the U.S. Immigration Service detained the six Turks, who have been in a prison in Buffalo city near the Canadian border for eight months. Hasan Yildiz, chairman of the Defense Sports Federation, said that there was a misunderstanding; they are sportsmen.

-- "I" WILL ANNOUNCE AMOUNT OF IMF LOAN
Upon his arrival from India to Turkey, Premier Tayyip Erdogan commented on claims that "Turkey requested $30 billion from the IMF, however, the IMF would give 19 billion the most". "These are nothing but rumors, I will make the final explanation on this issue," Erdogan said.

-- HERE IS CRISIS PACKAGE
Vatan daily's columnist Aydin Ayaydin learned about the details of the government's "economic measures package" expected impatiently by the markets. According to the package, an agreement will be reached with the IMF soon. Officials are currently determining the amount of the required resources and where and how to use them. Some part of the resources to be received from the IMF will be used in the real sector.

-- NALBANDIAN IN ISTANBUL
Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian, who came to Istanbul for a meeting of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), called for the normalization of relations and the opening of the border between Turkey and Armenia. Armenian President Serzh Sargsian would visit Turkey in 2009, Nalbandian said and stated that Armenia "would not and could not" ask the Armenian lobby to give up its efforts for the acknowledgement of the Armenian allegations on the incidents of 1915.

The economy package submitted to the government comprises of specialization, incentives and long-term credit demands. The package, which also includes issues not related to the economic crisis, suggests that the IMF credits should be used to shrink current account deficit and debts of the private sector.

A new step has been taken under Turkey-Armenia dialogue process which was earlier launched with the visit of President Abdullah Gul to Yerevan. Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian, who arrived in Istanbul, visited secretariat of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC). Nalbandian said that Armenian President Serzh Sargsian would come to Turkey to watch the World Cup qualifier between Turkey and Armenia.

-- HE WILL COME FOR RETURN MATCH
Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian, who arrived in Istanbul as the rotating president of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), sent positive messages regarding the relations between Turkey and Armenia.
