A Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had previously ruled that President Abdullah Gul, against whom a police report had been prepared regarding the "Missing Trillions" case when he was a deputy, had immunity from prosecution. The 1st High Criminal Court of Sincan has annulled such a decision, stating that "standing trial was a basic requirement in law". Saylan passed away early on Monday at the hospital she had been receiving treatment. "I have fulfilled all my duties. Now I am ready to die," said Saylan, minutes before she passed away. Saylan had been struggling with breast cancer for 19 years.
