Fenerbahce beat Sivasspor --which currently leads the Turkish Soccer League-- in Kadikoy and reaffirmed its chances in the race for top of the league. Fenerbahce fell behind twice in the critical game but did not give up. It fought and gave Sivasspor the taste of defeat for the first time after 11 weeks. Ugur who scored two goals gave life to Fenerbahce. Semih and Lugano lead the way to victory with two more goals.

Three pilots and one cabin attendant, who died when "Tekirdag" plane of Turkish Airlines (THY) crashed during landing at Schipol Airport of Amsterdam, were laid to rest yesterday. THY personnel and families burst into tears when the coffins, which were covered with Turkish flags and carried by pilots, were brought to the ceremony area.

-- NETHERLANDS: EXAMINING TURBULENCE POSSIBILITY
A spokesperson of Dutch Security Board said that all scenarios which could cause the plane crash were being examined, and noted that "wake turbulence" which created problems in the past too was considered as one of the possible causes of the crash. 42 of 86 wounded people who were at 13 different hospitals were discharged. Five other wounded people who were in serious condition are now stable.

Russian Intelligence Organization FSB's agents, who are swarming in Istanbul, are killing Chechen insurgents one by one. Basaksehir in September, Umraniye in December, and finally Zeytinburnu in last Thursday... Targets of the all three executions were Chechen commanders. The last victim Ali Osaev was very close to Dukka Umarov who was called as "head of state"Â by Chechen insurgents.

Turkish Airlines (THY) executives, families and pilots cried in the funeral ceremony that took place for the four crew members who were killed when "Tekirdag" plane crashed during landing at Schipol Airport of Amsterdam. THY chairman said, "first scenes were promising but then a bittersweet miracle happened."

-- RECORDINGS PUT BLAME ON CONTROL TOWER IN THY CRASH
Wake turbulence possibility as cause of Amsterdam plane crash is gaining credence. A boeing 737 jet belonging to Northwest airlines landed shortly before Turkish Airlines (THY) Jet. Northwest Airlines confirmed that their aircraft landed at 10:24 a.m . According to control tower records, THY jet was four miles behind. The control tower made a mistake and did not allow five miles between the two aircrafts. It gave permission for THY jet to land. THY jet crashed at 10:26 am.

-- MIT-KGB WAR IN ISTANBUL
Assassination of three Chechen leaders in the last six months (in Istanbul) alarmed Turkey's intelligence organisation, MIT. Chechen Colonel Gazi Edilsultanov was shot dead in the head with assassination pistol Groza in front of his house last September, while Islam Canibekov was shot dead in December in Istanbul. When Ali Osaev was assassinated the same way the night before in front of his house in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, MIT took action. Recently, Russian Secret Service had been carrying out assassinations to leaders of Chechen resistance who are living abroad. MIT thinks the homicides in Istanbul were carried out by the Russians. MIT was briefed yesterday by the newly formed Police investigation unit about killings of Chechens.

-- HEART-WRENCHING FAREWELL
Funerals of captain pilot Hasan Tahsin Arisan, pilots Murat Sezer and Olgay Ozgur, and cabin attendant Ulvi Murat Eskin, who died in the Turkish Airlines (THY) plane crash in Amsterdam, were brought to Istanbul early on Saturday. First ceremony for the pilots and cabin attendant was held at THY General Directorate building. THY personnel and families burst into tears when they saw the coffins of pilots which were covered with Turkish flags. Later, the victims were laid to rest.

Dr. David Cuthell, scholar from Columbia and Georgetown universities, said that U.S. President Obama had the chance to make things right. Cuthell said that Turks in the United States were the best welcomed and accepted community in the country. Cuthell said that people in Turkey should give up being paranoid about the targets and intents of the U.S.

German archeologist Klaus Schmidt (who discover the area in 1994) said, "this place is a shrine from heaven".

People in Istanbul cried for three pilots and one flight attendant who died in the Turkish Airlines (THY) plane crash in the Netherlands. Captain pilot Hasan Tahsin Arisan and co-pilot Olgay Ozgur, who were called as "heroic pilots" by their colleagues, as well as flight attendant Ulvi Murat Eskin were laid to rest with a ceremony.

-- IF TURKEY HAD BEEN IN DISTRESS, IT COULD NOT STAND UP TO IMF
State Minister Mehmet Simsek said Turkey's economy was far more better than it had been, while commenting on the new agreement to be signed with IMF. "If Turkey really had been in distress, it would have to sign whatever was offered just like Hungary, Serbia, Ukraine and Pakistan and it would not have a chance to negotiate with IMF," said Simsek.

Elections in Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) and Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) were completed. Murat Yalcintas was reelected Chairman, with 133 votes ahead of Ibrahim Caglar, at the ITO elections where former Chairman Mehmet Yildirim could not even win a seat at the ITO assembly. In ISO elections, Tanil Kucuk who took the support of Sabanci and Koc groups, received 68 out of 114 votes and was reelected chairman for the third time.
