-- TURKISH PM TAKES RAIN CHECK ON GREECE VISIT
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan postponed his visit to Greece just hours before he was to depart for Athens, citing a minor health condition. Erdogan was supposed to attend the opening ceremony of the new Acropolis Museum in Athens upon an invitation from his Greek counterpart, Kostas Karamanlis. Erdogan's doctors have reportedly said he was fatigued due to high blood pressure and overworking.

-- MIDIBUS OVERTURNS IN CENTRAL TURKEY, KILLS 10
A midibus overturned on Saturday, killing 10 university students who were on their way home after a picnic in Abant town of the central province of Bolu. Eighteen others were injured in the accident. The students were from Ankara's Gazi and Hacettepe universities.

-- GUL: ‘TERRORISM HAMPERS OUR EFFORTS’
President Abdullah Gul received representatives of the Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "Our state has been carrying out some goodwill efforts about democracy,” Gul said during the meeting. “However, terrorism is hampering them. If there were not terrorism, we would have solved the problems more easily and quickly."
       
-- SOLDIER KILLED IN CLASH WITH TERRORISTS
A soldier was killed in clashes with PKK terrorists in a mountainous area in the eastern province of Tunceli. Three soldiers were also injured in the clashes.

-- TEN FEMALE STUDENTS KILLED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
A midibus carrying female students overturned near Kizilcahamam town in Ankara province because of high speed. Ten students were killed in the accident, and 14 others were injured. The students were returning home from a school picnic in the northwestern province of Adiyaman.

-- DISASTER AFTER TRIP: 10 DIE IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
There was a heartbreaking accident overnight. A midibus carrying university students from a trip to Abant town of the northwestern province of Bolu overturned, killing 10 students and injuring 17 others.
       
-- CICEK TO BE QUESTIONED ALSO BY CIVILIAN PROSECUTOR
The prosecutors carrying out the Ergenekon probe decided to question Col. Dursun Cicek for his alleged involvement in the "Action Plan for the Fight Against Fundamentalism." Accordingly, Cicek will be questioned by both civilian and military prosecutors.

-- REPORT: SIGNATURE ON PLAN LIKELY TO BELONG TO MILITARY OFFICER
A gendarmerie forensic report has concluded the signature on a document allegedly drafted by a military colonel was highly likely to be authentic. The document, allegedly written by Col. Dursun Cicek, was said to be drafted to take action against "religious fundamentalism." The forensic report said, "With a 90 percent probability, the signature belongs to the colonel."
       
-- FIRST DOMESTIC CASE OF SWINE FLU CONFIRMED
The Turkish Health Ministry confirmed the country’s first domestic swine flu case on Saturday after detecting human-to-human transmission. The ministry did not identify the patients, but a man reportedly infected one of his relatives after arriving in Turkey from the United States. The total number of swine flu cases in Turkey increased to 22.

-- ERDOGAN CANCELS HIS VISIT TO ATHENS
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan canceled his scheduled visit to Athens, Greece, citing health problems. It was claimed that Athens' proposal to include Turkey in the section of the final statement of the EU Summit about illegal migration was the reason behind Erdogan's decision to cancel his visit.

Clashes erupted between security forces and a group of PKK terrorists in a rural area in the eastern province of Tunceli. A soldier was killed, and three others were injured in the clashes.

Seyhan Soylu did not deny a statement by Mehmet Eymur, former member of the National Intelligence Agency, or MIT, who said she was used by the gendarmerie intelligence service. "Even if I was used, I will remain silent and give no information to the public," she said.
