-- THREE COSMIC BUBBLES OF ERGENEKON
The incorrect stories of some media organs, which are known with their close ties with certain circles, had dominated the latest phase of Ergenekon operation. Those stories were simultaneously published in some media organs, giving the impression that the stories were served from the same source. Those stories include a gradual coup plot starting on July 7; former AKP MP and prime minister's adviser Turhan Comez flee abroad; and Retired General Brigadier Kadir Ali Esener were taken into custody. All these stories denied by officials.

-- BUSINESSMAN BEHIND BARS AFTER COURT ARREST IN ERGENEKON INVESTIGATION
An Istanbul court sent Sinan Aygun, businessman and head of Ankara  Chamber of Commerce, to prison early Saturday in an ongoing  investigation into an alleged criminal network, publicly known as  "Ergenekon." The court also ordered to put a retired colonel Hasan  Atilla Ugur, Ibrahim Ozcan and Birol Basaran behind bars pending trial.

-- DAILY URGES BRITS TO BUY REAL ESTATE IN TURKEY
As Turkish parliament has passed a law allowing property sales to  foreigners, British daily The Times urged Britons to buy real estate in Turkey at prices beginning from as low as 35 thousand pounds. The daily said prices are expected to boom if Turkey becomes a European Union member and it offers buying real estate in Turkey as a way to escape  credit crisis.

-- FOUR ARRESTS IN ERGENEKON
Four of 21 people who were detained under the Ergenekon probe were  arrested early on Saturday. Ankara Chamber of Trade Chairman Sinan  Aygun, retired colonel Hasan Atilla Ugur, Birol Basaran and Ibrahim  Ozcan were arrested. The previous day one person was arrested while five others were released.

-- GUL REPLIES TO CALL OF OZKOK
Former Chief of General Staff retired Gen. Hilmi Ozkok earlier said  without further delay an "official actor" must step forward and launch a process aimed at putting the "house in order". President Abdullah Gul
said, "I am working on this matter."

-- AYGUN ARRESTED UNDER ERGENEKON
Four people were arrested within the scope of the Ergenekon  investigation early on Saturday. Ankara Chamber of Trade Chairman Sinan Aygun, retired colonel Hasan Atilla Ugur, Birol Basaran and Ibrahim Ozcan were arrested. Prof. Ercument Ovali was released by the court pending trial.

-- PRESIDENT GUL REPLIES TO CALLS
Several officials made calls that President Abdullah Gul should launch  initiatives for decreasing tension in the country. Gul replied to those saying that he was working on this issue and holding talks.

-- THE DIFFERENCE IN PERSPECTIVES
Prime Minister Erdogan accused the Honorary Chairman of Koc Holding, Turkey largest industrial conglomerate, of making "discrimination." Rahmi Koc has said in an interview, "I would not hire anybody who has mustache or beard. One should take care of itself, shave everyday and look neat."

-- KEY PKK FINANCIER ARRESTED IN FRANCE
Nedim Seven, the hidden treasurer of the terrorist organization PKK, has been arrested by a court order in France. Seven was tried in France for extending financial aid to the PKK and released on the condition of
judicial control. Sources said Seven was arrested for violating the  judicial control condition.

-- BUSH WATCHING TURKEY CLOSELY
White House spokeswoman said U.S. president wanted to be sure that  Turkish democracy stood on strong grounds. "I think that you know  President Bush has said he is a great supporter of Turkey. The president has supported Turkey for European Union membership and he wants to be sure that Turkish democracy is standing on strong grounds," Dana Perino said, when responding to a question about an ongoing probe into an alleged criminal network, known as "Ergenekon."

-- INVESTIGATION TORTURE
Journalists, politicians, scientists, retired soldiers and businessmen  who were detained under the Ergenekon investigation have been suffering from psychological pressure. Retired Gen. Sener Eruygur who was recently detained under Ergenekon probe, suffered Friday from hyper tension during procedures in the court house. Eruygur was sent to hospital in Istanbul in an ambulance.

-- EU CLOSELY MONITORS DEVELOPMENTS REGARDING ERGENEKON PROBE
The developments in regard to detentions under the Ergenekon probe have been monitored by diplomats of EU countries in Ankara. Diplomats think  that political tension in Turkey would escalate and a crisis could take place due to detentions under the Ergenekon probe.

-- AKP OFFICIALS CONCERNED ON ERGENEKON
AKP officials feel uneasy over the delays in the preparation of indictment in Ergenekon operation. "The prosecutor should have strong evidences given the detainments of army commanders even if they are retired in the latest wave. This wave is like a grenade ready to explode. If we drop the bomb premature then the opposite side could sent it back to us. If we delay to drop the bomb then it could explode in our hands," a high-level official of AKP told in a private meeting.

-- ERUYGUR HOSPITALIZED
Retired Gen. Sener Eruygur who was detained under the Ergenekon operation, got sick when he was interrogated at the prosecutor's office on Friday evening. Eruygur was taken to the hospital.

-- GUL: I AM WORKING FOR COMMON SENSE
President Abdullah Gul replied to calls that he should launch initiative in regard to the recent developments in the country and said he held several talks some of which were publicly known and some of which were not. "I will keep making recommendations on the matter," he said.
