-- TURKEY WILL COME OUT CRISIS STRONGER
World Economic Forum (WEF) President Klaus Schwab said that Turkey had made significant reforms and therefore Turkey would most probably come out of the economic crisis stronger. "As a secular and Muslim country, Turkey establishes a bridge between the East and the West and can have direct relations with both of them," he said. Schwab also said that Turkey was an important country for energy policies.

-- LALE AKGUN MAY BECOME PRESIDENT OF GERMANY
The Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper published a story titled "candidate of Turkish descent". In its story, the newspaper wrote that Lale Akgun, a member of the German Federal Parliament, might run for presidential election in 2014. SPD MP Akgun said, "A conservative newspaper wrote such a story which I see as a positive outcome of the recent presidential election in the United States."

-- HERE ARE SAHIN'S ASSASSINATION PLANS
It has been alleged that a former member of the Special Forces unit, Kenan Temur, was one of the leaders of the assassination teams claimed to have been set up by the unit's former head Ibrahim Sahin. It has been determined that Temur's team comprising of eight people was planning to kill Armenian Patriarch Mesrob Mutafyan with a rocket launcher. Moreover, it has been revealed that another assassination team headed by Lieutenant Muhammed Sarikaya was planning to kill Ali Balkiz, chairperson of Alevite-Bektashi Federation.

-- FREEDOM OF PRESS IS BASIC REQUIREMENT, PIERINI
The European Union closely follows Premier Tayyip Erdogan's remarks calling on the citizens "not to buy certain newspapers". Refraining from pronouncing Erdogan's name, Marc Pierini, head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey, said that freedom of press was the basic requirement of the EU's political criteria. Pierini said it was of great importance for the media to make objective judgments and reach resources equally, adding that this situation might be displeasing for politicians.

-- CRITICAL MESSAGE TO IMF IN DAVOS
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan gave a critical message to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Davos, Switzerland. Erdogan said if the IMF authorities brought up new matters every day, it could cause some sensitivities. Erdogan also said that problems occurred before every agreement. IMF First Deputy Managing Director John Lipsky said the IMF was hopeful about reaching an agreement with Turkey based on the meetings between the IMF and Turkey.

Foreign Minister Ali Babacan had a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Eduard Nalbandian in Davos, Switzerland where the World Economic Forum annual meeting is continuing. Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will meet on Thursday evening.

-- IMF COMES WITH NEW ARTICLES EVERY DAY
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan went to Davos, Switzerland to participate in the 39th meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Before flying to Switzerland, Erdogan said some sensitivities had not been overcome yet with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). "If the IMF brings up new articles every day, those articles will naturally cause sensitivity." In Davos, Erdogan said, "every meeting begins problematically, but ends without problems," signaling the probability of a deal.

-- NO PURCHASERS FOR UZAN'S MANSION
Ahmet Afif Pasha Mansion in Istinye, Istanbul, which belonged to Kemal Uzan, was put to auction for the third time. The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund of Turkey (TMSF) seized the mansion within the scope of Imar Bank operation. However, no one submitted bids for the mansion. The estimated value of the mansion had been set as 40.1 million Turkish liras (TL). (One USD is 1.622 TL) The five-storey mansion has 22 rooms. It was built 100 years ago, and is actually a place where some Turkish TV series are shot.

-- IMF BRINGS UP NEW ISSUES EVERYDAY
Premier Tayyip Erdogan said that the IMF kept on bringing up new issues in its talks with Turkey. "If IMF treats Turkey equally as several other countries which are quite different from us, we will become more sensitive," Erdogan said.

-- NEW AMMUNITION FOUND IN ANKARA AND ISTANBUL
In an operation waged in the Batikent district of capital Ankara, seven hand grenades, three rifle grenades, 10 Lancaster bombs, 15 boxes of M-16 bullets, as well as 461 kalashnikov bullets were found. Meanwhile, more than 900 bullets were found in an empty field in Sultangazi district of Istanbul.
