-- TWO BOEING ENGINEERS KILLED IN PLANE CRASH

Boeing announced that two of its four engineers on board the plane were killed in the plane crash, another one named Michael T. Hemmer was hospitalised and the fate of the fourth engineer was yet unknown. However, sources who spoke on condition of anonymity said the fourth engineer might also have been killed during the crash. Boeing's CEO Jim McCerney said, "We left behind a day of grief for our company. We pray for them."

 

-- GENERAL STAFF SEES TRT SES AS "CULTURAL MOVE"

Turkey's General Staff called on prosecutors to take action about Democratic Society Party leader Ahmet Turk who delivered a speech in Kurdish at the Parliament. However, when commenting on the TRT SES channel broadcasting in Kurdish, the military said it was natural for the state to make certain moves in the cultural realm.

-- QUESTIONS TO THE NETHERLANDS

Pilots Association stated that there were serious doubts that the Turkish Airlines (THY) plane crashed due to the turbulence of Boeing 757 of Northwest which landed two minutes before the THY plane. The Association asked whether the control tower made any warning about this or not.

 

-- NO ENGINE AND FUEL PROBLEM

First results from the technical experts, who left Turkey for the Netherlands to make examinations about the plane crash, reached Ankara. Officials of Civil Aviation Directorate General said that there was no trouble in the engine of the plane and there was no fuel problem as well.

-- FALLING LEAVES

According to the research of Forbes Turkey, the fortune of the 100 richest Turks dropped from 111 billion dollars to 57 billion dollars due to global crisis. The fortune of Turkey's richest person Husnu Ozyegin dropped from 4 billion dollars to 2.9 billion dollars, while Aydin Dogan's fortune decreased from 2 billion dollars to 750 million dollars.

 

-- SERIAL CHECHEN MURDER

A Chechen was killed in Istanbul yesterday. This is the third murder in the last five months. A Chechen named Osaev was killed after the death of two Chechen colonels. It is interesting that all three murders were committed with MSP which is known as KGB's weapon.

-- TURKISH MILITARY CALLS PROSECUTORS TO TAKE ACTION ABOUT SPEECH IN KURDISH

General Staff's Spokesperson Gen. Metin Gurak commented on Ahmet Turk's speech in Kurdish and said in a country with rule of law, it was natural for justice to take legal action against those who violated the law. When commenting on TRT SES channel broadcasting in Kurdish, Gen. Gurak said the state could make moves in the cultural realm provided that it did not harm the unitary and nation state structure.

 

-- BIG BLOW TO "PEACE EAGLE" PROJECT

The three U.S. citizens, who lost their lives on board the Turkish Airlines Jet which crashed landing at Amsterdam, were working on the Turkish Early Warning and Control System project. Michael T. Kemmer, Ricky E. Wilson, John Salman and Ronald A. Richey were working in the TAI Aerospace Industries facilities in Ankara. They were en route to Seattle with a connecting flight from Amsterdam. The Chief Engineer of the "Peace Eagle" project, Kemmer was seriously wounded, while the other three engineers were killed. The Boeing engineers were working on modifying four Boeing 737 commercial aircraft to airborne early warning and control aircrafts with their Turkish colleagues.

-- ANOTHER CHECHEN MURDER

Following the murders of Chechen Colonel Gazhi Edilsutanov in Basaksehir district and Islam Conibefov in Umraniye district of Istanbul, another Chechen Ali Osaev was shot to death two days ago. Police think the last murder might be related with the previous murders.

 

-- CULTURAL INITIATIVE

General Staff Communication Department Chief Metin Gurak announced the opinion of military about broadcast of state-run TRT channel in Kurdish. Gurak said that state could launch several initiatives in cultural area by not harming the unitary state and nation state structure.
