-- THY'S FIRST BOEING 777 TO ARRIVE TODAY
Boeing 777-300ER, the first long-range plane of Turkish Airlines (THY) that will fly from Istanbul to the U.S. city of Los Angeles, will land in Istanbul at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The plane, which was leased from Indian Jet Airways, will conduct its first flight on Dec. 29.

-- REGISTERS OF VOTERS TO BE ON DISPLAY AGAIN
The register of voters, which includes the names of dead citizens and PKK terrorists, will be on display again for updates. The Higher Election Board (YSK) of Turkey made public its decision regarding the controversial registers of voters yesterday. "The elections will be fair, confide in us," officials said. The registers will be on display for update for 20 days beginning from Dec. 25-26.

-- CHP FILES CRIMINAL COMPLAINT TO CANKAYA MAYOR FROM CHP
Administration of the Republican People's Party (CHP) decided to file a complaint at te Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office over irregularity allegations against CHP Cankaya mayor, Muzaffer Eryilmaz and members of the municipal board. CHP spokesman Mustafa Ozyurek said the allegations should be investigated.

-- YSK: THERE IS NO PROBLEM
After examining the allegations about irregularities in the electoral roll, the Higher Board of Election (YSK) said there was no problem.  Explaining about the 6 million voters, YSK said there were 2 million people who reached the official voting age of 18 years.

-- IT WAS ON WAY FOR PKK
Teams of police department of the southeastern province of Diyarbakir seized a large amount of explosives and weapons in a minibus that was on the way for PKK. Terrorists left the minibus after realizing police were after them. 57 kilograms of explosives, 1 RPG rocket launcher, and a large amount of ammunition were seized.

-- WE WILL DISCUSS ELIMINATION OF PKK, ERDOGAN
In regard to a 4-phase plan foreseeing elimination of the terrorist organization PKK in the north of Iraq, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki of Iraq will come to Turkey tomorrow (Wednesday). We will have the chance of discussing all the developments with him. Our desire is to save our country from the PKK terrorist organization as soon as possible. In that case, Iraq will also have saved their country from terrorism."

-- MINIBUS LADEN WITH EXPLOSIVES FOUND IN DIYARBAKIR
Security teams found an abandoned minibus loaded with 57 kg of TNT explosives, a missile launcher, bombs, guns and bullets in an operation in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir. Explosives were hidden in flour and sugar sacks in the minibus.

-- POLICE CAPTURE PKK ARSENAL
Police became suspicious about a minibus that was traveling in reverse in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir and began to pursue the vehicle. Police found 57 kg of TNT explosives, 1 RPG rocket launcher, 70 hand grenades, and a large amount of ammunition in the minibus abandoned on the outskirts of the city.

The Republican People's Party (CHP) filed a criminal complaint against CHP Cankaya mayor, Muzaffer Eryilmaz, who has a voice record accusing members of the municipality board of demanding bribes.

-- I APOLOGIZE TO ALEVI CITIZENS, CULTURE MINISTERÂ
Delivering a speech at the inauguration of Turkey's first "Alevi Institute", Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay said that, as a state official, he apologized (to Alevi citizens) for all the mistakes done in the past. Gunay said great provocations took place in the past in Turkish cities of Maras, Corum and Sivas, however, Alevi citizens who were deeply committed to the values of the country, did not give credit to such moves.

-- REGISTERS ON WAY TO COURT
Republican People's Party (CHP) said that it was ready to take action upon a warning of Honorary Chief Public Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals Sabih Kanadoglu who said that the protocol signed between the Higher Election Board (YSK) and the Ministry of Interior for the transfer of YSK's authorities to the executive power, could be appealed at the Council of State.

-- PRESIDENT GUL DUE TO IRAQ IN JANUARY
President Abdullah Gul will pay a visit to Iraq in the second half of January. After Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said that they would call on the terrorist organization PKK to lay down arms, Gul announced that he would visit the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in January.

-- SNOW IN WEST PART OF TURKEY
There has been snowfall in the Marmara region, including Istanbul, due to cold weather coming over the Balkans. Temperatures will continue to drop across the country in the next two days. Meteorology officials said temperatures would start to rise by the weekend.

-- CUT IN NATURAL GAS PRICE
A great decrease in prices of oil and natural gas will benefit consumers. The talks between the ministry of energy and treasury undersecretariat yielded a decision of reduction in natural gas price. Authorities said there would be a 20 percent cut in natural gas price.

-- TRADE STOPS AT GREEN LINE
A war of food started between Turkish and Greek Cypriots in Cyprus. The Greek Cypriot administration earlier said that it would ban imports of meat, milk and animal products from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). After this development, the TRNC said that it would also ban imports of such products from the Greek Cypriot administration.
