HURRIYET
-- DORMITORY BUILDING COLLAPSES, EIGHTEEN KILLED
A dormitory collapsed in the central province of Konya on Friday, killing 17 children and an instructor, injuring 29 people. The building collapsed early in the morning due gas leak in Balcilar town of Konya.

ESCAPE FROM HUGE FOREST FIRE
-- Villagers fled their homes as a massive forest fire engulfed the southern province of Antalya, burning at least 10 thousand hectares of pine trees. Four villages have been evacuated as fire fighters had hard times to contain the blaze due to strong wind. The ruins of the ancient Aspendos city was not damaged by the fire, which one official called as the biggest in the region.

-- GUL: WE CAN ELIMINATE CONCERNS TOGETHER
President Abdullah Gul, who spoke to Milliyet's columnist Hasan Cemal at Cankaya Presidential Palace, said, "we all need self-criticism and empathy. This should be done both for individuals and institutions." Gul said that the only way for change was to concentrate on EU membership process.

-- MANAVGAT HELL
The most destructive fire in the history of the region is continuing in Manavgat town of southern province of Antalya. Fire, due to wind, burned 10,000 hectares of forest. Five villages were evacuated. Two neighborhoods completely burned. Fire reached 4-5 kilometers near the Aspendos Ancient Theater. Also fire erupted in Kemer, Fethiye, Ayvalik towns and southern province of Adana at the same hours yesterday.

SABAH
-- ILLEGAL DORMITORY DISASTER
An illegal dormitory, which gave Quran lessons for girls, collapsed after its LPG storage exploded. 18 girls were killed, 27 others were wounded. It was revealed that the building had no license as a dormitory; Quran courses were opened illegally; and the building did not have reports for earthquake and fire.

-- YAGMURDERELI PASSES AWAY
Justice and Development Party (AKP) Istanbul deputy and film producer Osman Yagmurdereli passed away last night. He was under treatment at Acibadem Hospital.

-- DORMITORY COLLAPSES, 18 KILLED
Seventeen children and one instructor were killed, and 29 people were injured when a three-storey dormitory building collapsed due to gas explosion in the central Anatolian province of Konya. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals and three of them were reported to be in critical condition.

Turkey's southern province of Antalya is facing the biggest forest fire of its history as wild blaze had destroyed 10 thousand hectares of pine forest. One official said the high voltage lines had ignited the fire, which threatened the ruins of the ancient city of Aspendos. Fire fighters have been unable to contain the fire due to strong wind. Four villages have been evacuated and at least two neighborhoods were burned  down.

Boarding Quran course for girls in Balcilar hamlet of central Anatolian province of Konya collapsed when LPG storage in the basement exploded. Seventeen girls, who were trapped under the debris, died, while 27 others were wounded. It was revealed that the course did not have a license.     Â

-- PRICE INCREASE ON FULL THROTTLE
The price of natural gas was increased for the third time since the beginning of the year. The prices rose 17 percent for houses and 19 percent for industry. Consumer associations will file lawsuits.

-- ANTALYA'S FORESTS IN FIRE
Nature of Antalya, where millions of tourists rushed into each summer, was seriously wounded. The fire, which erupted in Manavgat town of Antalya two days ago, spread rapidly due to strong wind. The efforts of 2,000 people for day and night did not work. Fire destroyed 10,000 hectares of pine forest. Although citizens desperately fought against the fire, it burned houses in many villages. Fire reached Serik town.  Officials said that the fire erupted due to high-voltage line. Authorities said, "we have seen such a fire for the first time. Fire suddenly jumped one kilometer and completely turned the mountain into an ash within two hours."      Â

-- KARTAL, FENER AND CIMBOM COMFORTABLE
Draw made for the third qualifying round of European Champions League. Galatasaray (Cimbom) will play against Romania's Steaua Bucharest; Fenerbahce will play against the winner of the second qualifying round between Inter Baku (Azerbaijan) and Partizan Belgrade (Serbia). Also Besiktas (Kartal) will face Bosnian team Siroki Brijeg in UEFA Cup second qualifying round.

Forest fire in the southern town of Manavgat in Antalya province has  burned down at least 4 thousand hectares of pine forest. The huge blaze  threatened the two thousand year old Aspendos city due strong wind. Six  fire helicopters and five planes have been deployed to region. Five  villages were completely destroyed in what is described as the biggest  forest fire ever in the region.   Â

-- TURKISH CYPRIOT LEADER'S DAUGHTER GETS MARRIED
Daughter of Turkish Cypriot President Mehmet Ali Talat, Aysenur, got  married in a wedding ceremony in island's city of Girne, which was  attended by former Turkish and Greek Cypriot presidents, Rauf Denktas  and George Vassiliou. The name of Talat's Tunisian son-in-law turned out to be Rauf, same as the name of his former political rival.
