--HE WILL APOLOGIZE
Turkey conditionally said yes to Danish Premier Rasmussen being appointed as the next NATO secretary general. Rasmussen will apologize for cartoon crisis regarding Prophet Mohammed. Also, Roj TV will be closed.

--MEASURES IN AIR AND LAND FOR OBAMA
All flights in the route will be stopped before U.S. President Barack Obama's plane enters Turkish air space due to his visit that is planned to start at 9:00 p.m. High-level security measures were taken in Ankara and Istanbul. Obama will depart from Istanbul on Tuesday.

--NATO DID NOT WANT ANY CRACKS
The crisis, which arose due to Turkey's objection to Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen's candidacy for NATO secretary-general, has been overcome thanks to the diplomatic traffic mainly carried out by U.S. President Barack Obama and the assurance given to Turkey.

After the official program of the NATO summit in Strasbourg was completed, leaders gathered to discuss Turkey's abstentions on Rasmussen's candidacy. Obama intervened in the process and the leaders agreed on a package that would convince Turkey. After the gathering, it was officially announced that Rasmussen would become the next secretary-general of NATO.

--ROJ TV TO BE CLOSED
Commenting on Rasmussen’s appointment as the incoming secretary-general of NATO, Premier Tayyip Erdogan said that President Abdullah Gul approved Rasmussen's candidacy after he received news that Turkey's abstentions were eliminated upon the assurance given by U.S. President Obama. Erdogan said that the assurances given to Turkey were stopping the broadcasts of Roj TV, NATO's establishing contact with the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and assigning a Turkish official as one of the highest-level assistants of the NATO secretary-general.

Ankara put pressure and Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan resisted until the end. Only after major concessions were given to Turkey, then Danish premier was selected as the NATO secretary general.

Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan assessed Rasmussen’s selection as the NATO secretary general, and said, "Our president said yes after Turkey's reservations were solved under guarantorship of U.S. President Barack Obama."

NATO leaders including Turkish President Abdullah Gul were taken family photo in the end of the summit in Strasbourg. U.S. President Barack Obama, in his press conference, thanked Turkey as it gave approval to Rasmussen.

--BE CAREFUL WITH THE TRAFFIC
U.S. President Barack Obama will be in Ankara at 9:00 p.m. tonight. While he is visiting presidential palace and parliament on Monday, streets will be closed and air traffic will stop. "Yellow alarm" will be activated while Obama is landing in Istanbul at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Nearly 9,000 police will protect Obama.

U.S. President Barack Obama met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and told him "give approval, we will remove your reservations". Those words allowed Danish Premier Anders Fogh Rasmussen to be selected as the next NATO secretary general.

European leaders displayed efforts to overcome Turkey's objection to Danish Prime Minister Rasmussen's candidacy for NATO secretary-general. U.S. President Barack Obama's assurance to Turkey could convince the country on the issue. After a one-hour private meeting between Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Obama, the U.S. president said that he would act as a guarantor in order to eliminate Turkey's concerns and the crisis was overcome upon the proposal of a special package.

--"YES" ON FIVE CONDITIONS
Premier Erdogan asked for the fulfillment of five conditions for the selection of Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen as the new secretary-general of NATO. Erdogan said that Roj TV should be closed, Rasmussen should apologize to the Islamic world and NATO's deputy secretary-general, a high-level official of the organization responsible for disarmament and the NATO representative in Afghanistan should be Turkish.

--GOVERNOR TALKS: INITIAL INFORMATION FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT
Governor Mevlut Bilici of the central Anatolian province of Kayseri said that the police department gave him the information claiming that "Great Union Party (BBP) chairman Muhsin Yazicioglu was conscious and hospitalized" after a helicopter crash. Bilici told Yeni Safak daily that he did not get the information from military sources as alleged by BBP officials, but he learnt about it from the police department. "However, it was particularly expressed that such information needed to be confirmed," Bilici said.
