-- BAYKAL TO ENTER HIS 10TH TEST
Having served as the chairman of Republican People's Party (CHP) since 1992, Deniz Baykal succeeded in getting elected as the CHP chairman for the past nine conventions. The CHP is holding its 32nd convention on Saturday. This will be Baykal's 10th test and he will compete against Haluk Koc, Umut Oran, Ayhan Yalcinkaya and Tolga Yarman.

Hasim Kilic, chief judge of Turkey's Constitutional Court, said that initiatives to rescue regime by non-juristic ways only collapses the country. The circulation of Sabah daily was affected badly when 25 percent of Sabah-atv was bought by Qatari Amir who governs his country with sharia. The circulation of Sabah daily was over 400,000 before it was handed over to Calik group and its Arabian partner. Its circulation dropped more than ten percent after the hand over.       Â

A clash erupted during an operation which was staged against PKK terrorists at Cudi Mountain with participation of 1,000 commandos and 300 village guards. Major Ercument Turkmen, corporal Murat Dogru and a gendarmery were killed in the clash.

Chief judge of Turkish Constitutional Court Hasim Kilic warned against polarization in Turkey. Kilic said that, due to the ongoing closure case against AKP, the Constitutional Court was under pressure from groups both out of Turkey and in Turkey.

Possible peace talks between Syria and Israel under mediation of Turkey drew attention. Leader of Israeli settlers in Golan wrote a letter to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and said; "the model which solved Hatay issue should be applied here too."
