ANTALYA - Heavy rain and stormy weather kept many travelers from Konyaaltı Beach in Antalya this weekend, but there are those who wait for this weather and then rush to the shore in search of precious materials.
Mete Öztoprak, 36, is among the treasure hunters who waits for pouring rain in the hope the tide recedes so he can find rings, earrings and necklaces that have been dropped into the water by summer tourists.
"I come here every time the rain falls in winter," said Öztoprak. "I generally find watches, necklaces, rings and bracelets."
Öztoprak found two bracelets in a three-hour search over the weekend, but they were not very precious pieces.
"They are never precious," he said. "They are really light pieces."
