ISTANBUL - Germany’s Prime Development announced new Turkish shopping center projects on Thursday.
"We are planning to build two centers under the name of ’Prime Mall’ in İskenderun and Antakya," Prime Development managing partner Philippe von Wilmowsky said in Istanbul. Investments for both centers will reach $350 million, Wilmowsky said.
"İskenderun and Antakya are really close to Adana and Gaziantep. People living in these areas can visit malls with their vehicles easily," he said. The malls will create 1,500 jobs each, Wilmowsky said, adding that Prime Development’s next project would be in Gaziantep. The firm finds 22 Turkish cities "very attractive," he added, a list in which Istanbul, İzmir and Antalya rank in the top three. "As long as it is built in the right location even Istanbul can handle 60 new malls," he said.
