Garage bomb kills 4 children

A bomb went off in garage in Ulalar town near the city of Erzincan yesterday, at approximately 12 o’clock noon, leaving four children dead.
The children were playing with a black bag, which contained a bomb, in the garage next to Yadigar Türkmen, father of Erdal Türkmen, the Atatürk district mukhtar, when the explosion happened killing two of the kids, Orghan Oğuz (12), and Cem Celep (11). Mert Celep (6) and Umut Türkmen (6), were wounded by shrapnel pieces. Although the wounded children were rushed to hospital, Cem’s brother, Mert Celep lost his life before they arrived. Umut Türkmen was lost his life at hospital today.
Threat from PKK
Mukhtar Erdal Türkmen’s son, Umut Türkmen, was admitted to the intensive care unit at Atatürk University Medical Faculty Aziziye Research Hospital. Mukhtar Erdal Türkmen, who stated that the garage was empty as he mainly used it during the winter, spoke of threats he had received from the PKK. It is thought that the delay action bomb originated from the Russian-made TNT model, and professionally prepared.
