PARIS - First Arsenal, now France. Outspoken defender William Gallas has spoken in a new autobiography about player tensions within France's squad that crumbled EURO2008.
Gallas doesn't name the fellow national player with whom he argued, but he identifies him as "S" and says he played in midfield. French sports newspaper L'Equipe indicated that Gallas was referring to Samir Nasri, the midfielder who now plays alongside Gallas at Arsenal.
Gallas' revelations in the autobiography published Friday follow an explosive interview this week, where he spoke of friction creeping into the Arsenal squad. Gallas reveals in his book that he also had trouble with the youngsters in the France squad at EURO 2008, where France failed to reach the knockout round. He says they "seem cheeky, very sure of themselves. They think they know everything but they know nothing."
