GAZİANTEP - Galatasaray beat Gaziantepspor by one goal Monday night in a tough away match to move up to fourth in the Turkcell Super League and stay in the title race.

Galatasaray coach Bülent Korkmaz. Galatasaray’s star player, Lincoln, was missing from the match yet again. "Lincoln is an important player for us," Korkmaz said. "He didn't play because he lacked match practice. People make comments about Lincoln's situation without knowing anything."
Referring to the Istanbul game on Sunday, he said, "In the
Fenerbahçe game, whoever can control their emotions and implement tactics during play will win."
The Galatasaray goalie was called on to make many vital saves in the second half, and a host of chances to score were missed on the other side, yet the Lions managed to hold on for a vital 1-0 victory. Galatasaray went ahead with a goal from Czech striker Milan Baros in the 10th minute of the first half.
Gaziantepspor Chairman İbrahim Kızıl confirmed that new coach Portuguese Jose Couceiro will take over the reins before the start of the new season once his commitments with the Lithuanian national team are completed. Current Gaziantepspor coach Seçkin Göksel rued the goal opportunities missed by his side and said: "We were looking for three wins from three games. Now we will look ahead."
