Galatasaray hammered Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce 5-1 on Wednesday to win the Turkish Cup for the 14th time in the club's history. The two clubs are also vying for the league title, Fenerbahce are leading Galatasaray by four points with three matches left. The game was played at the Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, the same stadium which will host the Champions League final between AC Milan and Liverpool on May 25.The media billed it as a dress rehearsal for the final between AC Milan and Liverpool in terms of security and transport preparations, although there were only 18,000 fans in the 70,000-capacity stadium.   French midfielder Franck Ribery opened the scoring for Galatasaray after 16 minutes, firing a shot from the edge of the area past keeper Rustu Recber.Galatasaray doubled their lead eight minutes later when Ribery set up a goal for Necati Ates.An own goal from Fenerbahce defender Deniz Baris made it 3-0 following a 38th-minute shot from Hakan.Brazilian defender Fabio Luciano pulled one back for Fenerbahce before halftime, shooting beyond keeper Faryd Mondragon after a cross by Alex de Souza.Hakan extended Galatasaray's lead in the 73rd minute, controlling a cross before striking the ball into the net.The experienced Turkey striker sealed the win in the dying minutes with his second goal of the game.Â
