French industrial confidence plunges

PARIS - French industrial confidence fell to its lowest ever reading in February compared with the January level, the statistics body INSEE reported Friday.
INSEE said its confidence index plunged 5 points to minus 68, the lowest level since the measure was established. The agency also said consumer prices in France fell 0.4 percent in January from December and rose just 0.7 percent from January 2008.
