Two people at a mosque courtyard were also injured in Besiktas district of Istanbul when a massive plane tree toppled over due to a fierce storm, Turkish news agencies said.
A total of 144 roofs were blown off and 20 trees were uprooted in the fierce storm that struck Istanbul.
A Cambodian tanker has run aground in Istanbul's Bosporus Strait, broadcaster NTV reported. Attemps are being made to rescue the 11 crew members on board, it added.
