Fear of EU from New Turkish Lira

Under the EU’s demand for changing the New Coin (which will start to circulate together with the New Turkish Lira in 2005) on grounds that it resembled Euro, there was the worry that it could be used at automatons in Europe. The probability of usage of the New Coin by the Turks living in Europe at the automatons of cola, coffee and cigarettes which operate with coin Euros frightened the EU. The likelihood of usage of a coin, which resembles Euro but which is not Euro, at the automatons of cola, coffee and cigarettes operating with coins in the EU countries brought the EU into action.By conveying the Undersecretariat of Treasury that the issue was sensitive for this reason, the EU officials asked for more detailed information about the dimension, weight and alloy features of the New Coin.
