Yorgo Kutrili, an ethnically Greek youth, was put to rest yesterday after a ceremony at the Bahariye Greek Church. Coming to the church to greet and extend their condolences to Aleko Kutrili were father and nephews of Dursun Tekin, the 20 year old Muslim who received one of Kutrili's kidneys. Said Musa Tekin, "Aleko Bey has taught the entire world a lesson in humanity. I learned from the newspapers that Yorgo was a Greek. There is no importance in this. We are all siblings. Language, religion, sect, none of these things matter. The important thing is that we are all humans." Aleko Kutrili said yesterday "My pain is great. May Allah give those who receive Yorgo's organs long lives. I am happy that they can live." When a reporter asked him how he felt that his son's organs would be transplanted to four different Muslim patients, Aleko Kutrili said "We have been living together as people for hundreds of years. We are all siblings."
