Explosives laden minibus was hidden in Van for one year

Police are reporting that the Mercedes Vito minibus found loaded with explosives in an Ankara parking lot last week had been hidden for one year in the Southeast Turkey city of Van for one year after having been stolen before that from Istanbul. So far, a total of 30 different people are being sought by police in connection with the event; the suspects are thought to be in a wide range of cities, including Istanbul, Van, Diyarbakir, Hakkari, Sirnak, and Siirt.

Security forces not that after being stolen from Istanbul, the Mercedes Vito minibus was transferred to Van by automobile thieves who sympathize with the terror group PKK, and who used the "double license" method to hide the fact that the vehicle had been stolen. After having been hidden in Van for one year, the minibus was brought to Ankara three days before police forces there found it with the help of a bomb-sniffing dog.Â
