EU Adjustment On Penal Code

The justification of the new Turkish Penal Code that will be applicable on April 1, waas sent to the EU representatives, with an amendment. The new TCK booklet sent by the Justice Ministry to the EU Secretary General and the European Commission, silently deleted a paragraph (305) that had caused controversy.The justification of the Article 305 had included "Writing about the genocide of Armenians in the World War 1" or demanding the pullout of Turkish troops from Cyprus, as examples to the "Actions against basic national interests." However, the public opinion is unaware of this deletion. Â
